Funny bizzare now...

We were right about the funny logic of Pakistan where it was ceding territory to terrorists and marking the spot with an X. Now they are attacking those spots themselves and will get tens of billions of dollars from the US government to improve it's "fighting capabilities" to fight those pesky terrorists. At about 100 million dollars per killed terrorist, we have the praise the folks who are doing the cost - benefit analysis here. A Pakistani terrorist killed by Pakistan in Pakistan is yielding a higher return for Pakistan then a Pakistani terrorist killed in India.

The next Pakistan initiated war will not go as smoothly as Kargil now. There will be much more to pay for India as all the US technology and logistical expertise pours in Pakistan. Not a bad deal for US too; India and Pakistan will continue to be locked in a death embrace much like the British had planned and hoped we would, pre-independence. One less potential superpower to worry about for the rest of the world.

India can only hope for the best and continue to be vigilant. And upgrade it's own capabilities in a non-corrupt fashion to match all the new US gizmos that would be hanging off a Pakistani soldier the next time they foray into India with renewed confidence and technology.

Pakistani Zar, Zari, Zameen

Who would have thunk that the "freedom fighters" would get Pakistani Zar, Zari and Zameen? As both India and Afghanistan close down their borders and there is no sympathy left for these militants, the cancer has turned on itself. After Swat, it is now Buner. Notice how they call them "fighters trained for combat in Kashmir"! Who trained them? The same masters that tell them that it is OK to get whatever they can in Pakistan itself, for now. Soon the military will swoop in with a fake victory and declare that Pakistan is "safe" from terrorists now that the terrorist masters are back in power.

Funny logic...

Pakistan has now virtually ceded part of the country to Taliban in anticipation of the impending US attack on them. The logic seems to be that they can give the US a visible target to attack in return for no action against the masters in Punjab and Sind. If I were an innocent family living in the new Sharia freedom areas, I would be packing my bags and leaving for urban Pakistan right now. Pakistan just marked a spot with a large "X" for the US.

The logic that Pakistan is a victim is a laughable one; they share the house and treat the Taliban with kid gloves whenever possible. The implicit understanding is that the violence will be directed elsewhere. But as the Pakistanis are finding out, terrorists seek the softest targets. It used to be Afghans and Kashmiris. Now that the drones are watching, killing local Pakistanis is much easier. The enemies enemy is not always a friend; he can turn into a worser enemy.
